DNA Health & Wellness - Abu Dhabi

DNA Health & Wellness is the only Abu Dhabi clinic in a six-site UAE group, and its genetic menu runs to more than 50 DNA tests. The clinic is a villa on Mohammed Bin Khalifa Street in Al Manhal, with a private car park in front. The other five sites are all in Dubai: Al Wasl Road, DIFC Gate Avenue, Dubai Marina, Alserkal Avenue and Downtown Dubai.

The name is literal. Two prices cover most of the genetic testing: AED 2,600 for the broad DNA Health profile, which looks at genes involved in B-vitamins, detoxification, inflammation, bone health and food sensitivities, and AED 2,000 for any single panel. Whole genome sequencing, which reads your entire genetic code rather than selected genes, is quoted on enquiry.

Each single panel reads a named set of genes:

• DNA Diet, 15 genes linked to metabolism and exercise
• DNA Mind, 30 genes
• DNA Skin, 18 genes
• DNA Oestrogen, 11 genes involved in processing oestrogen
• DNA Sport, DNA Autoimmunity and DNA Pain
• ancestry tests, plus methylation panels, which look at the chemical tags that sit on genes and can switch them on or off

The clinic practises functional medicine, an approach that works from blood chemistry, diet and lifestyle rather than a single presenting symptom. Its blood screening packages differ mainly in how many markers they cover:

• Vital Check-Up, AED 800, 33 markers
• Annual Check-Up, AED 1,950, 57 markers, plus body composition and a doctor consultation
• Executive Check-Up, AED 3,850, 80 markers, adding an ECG tracing of the heart's rhythm
• Longevity Health Screening, AED 35,000, run over six months with four consultations and repeat blood tests

Several tests are sold on their own: a TruAge biological age test at AED 3,000, analysed in the United States with results in two to three weeks, a TruCheck cancer blood screen at AED 8,500, a 25-element metals and minerals panel at AED 1,700, and a coronary calcium CT scan, which measures hardened fatty deposits in the arteries feeding the heart, at AED 2,650.

The imaging is in Dubai, not Abu Dhabi. The DEXA scan (AED 2,400), a low-dose X-ray that measures bone density and body fat, and the full-body MRI (AED 3,750) both run through the group's partner Mubadala Health in Jumeirah.

The Abu Dhabi menu also lists NAD+ and ozone IV drips, peptides, exosomes, hormone therapy, gut and food-sensitivity testing, and a separate aesthetics service. Published prices include VAT.
