The Lucia Magnani Health Clinic in Castrocaro Terme, a spa town in the province of Forli-Cesena, is a residential clinic-hotel licensed as an outpatient healthcare facility - authorisation no. 5905, dated 22 June 2021 - under medical director Prof. Claudio Vicini.

Its method, the Long Life Formula, was conceived by Lucia Magnani and centres on measuring oxidative stress - chemical damage to cells from free radicals - alongside blood work, an internal medicine consultation, an ECG (electrocardiogram, a trace of the heart's electrical activity) and gut microbiota analysis, then pairing the findings with nutrition planning, exercise and local thermal waters.

Guests book stays of three to 21 nights under named packages including EVERGREEN, WEIGHT LOSS, RE-START, ENERGY, CLEAN, SPORT, RELAX, NO SMOKE, IMMUNITY and LONGEVITY REBALANCE.

The diagnostics run heavier than a spa would suggest. The Advanced Diagnostic Centre lists whole-body MRI (magnetic resonance imaging, which uses magnets rather than X-rays), CT scanning including a cardiac calcium score, DEXA bone densitometry, mammography and Samsung HS-70A ultrasound with colour Doppler. Also offered: DNA and microbiota tests, oxygen-ozone therapy, and check-ups split by sex and age.
